It’s not often Byron Bay gets the royal treatment.

The 42-year-old UK equestrian, who is the daughter of Princess Anne, sported a blue bikini from Aussie swimwear brand Budgy Smuggler for the low-key outing, amid her stint down under for the Magic Millions racing carnival on the Gold Coast on Saturday.

Zara and Mike’s love story began in Australia in 2003 when they met in a bar in Sydney, while the royal was enjoying a gap year and Mike was playing for England in the Rugby World Cup.

Buckingham Palace announced their engagement in December 2010, and they were married the following July in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Mike, 45, has previously revealed their desire to move to Australia, though their responsibilities in the UK prevented them from relocating.

“We’ve said numerous times if we weren’t living in England, we’d love living there,” Mike told The Weekly in 2022.

“Living there isn’t realistic because it’s so far away from our families but we do love it.

“We’ve got a great friendship group in Australia and Zara has one in New Zealand as well. We just love that part of the world and love the pace of life.”

They share three children – Mia, 9, Lena, 5, and Lucas, 2.
