Sarah Ferguson not invited to King Charles’ coronation despite daughters attending

The Duchess of York will not be joining her ex-husband and her daughters at the coronation. Instead, the famous ‘blabbermouth’ has revealed the surprising way she plans to celebrate.

Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson was left off the coronation guest list because she’s an unpredictable “blabbermouth,” royal sources have revealed.

The former wife of the Duke of York Prince Andrew is viewed by the palace as “far too indiscreet” in her interviews promoting her love fiction novels and children's book when she often slips up and gives away intimate details of the royals’ lives.

“She can’t help herself, she’s given so many interviews to promote her books, and each time she says something about Prince Harry or William or the Queen, whom she was very close to,” said royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams.

“Fergie, there’s no doubt about it, is a blabbermouth, and she talks no end about the royals and that’s the main part of the reason she was left out of the coronation.”

The former close friend of Princess and Diana has however been diplomatic in her response to the coronation snub.

While promoting her new novel, Princess Eugenie and Beatrice mother said, “I personally will be having a little tea room and coronation chicken sandwich and putting out the bunting, that‘s what I’m going to be doing. Because that would make me very happy.”

The Hello magazine quoted Sarah further saying “I also love to watch it on the telly because you hear a lot on the telly.

“The commentators are always good and then everyone, all the family come back, because remember I am divorced from him [Prince Andrew] so I don‘t expect… you can’t have it both ways, you can’t be divorced and then say, ’I want this…’ [You’re in] or you’re out.”

She added: “Maybe I should take the corgis down there, with the bunting and sandwiches.”

King Charles III has been left “disappointed” he will not see his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, after Meghan Markle rejected the Monarch’s invitation to the coronation, according to reports.

After the Duke and Duchess of Sussex finally revealed whether they would return to the United Kingdom, sources close to the King told The Sun that the absence of the whole family was “sad, but the King understands the situation.”

They added he has “some disappointment” he will not see Ms Markle and his two grandchildren, but is “happy” Prince Harry will be there.

It comes amid reports that the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, has not been invited to the coronation.

Ms Ferguson, who continues to live with Prince Andrew at the Royal Lodge, will not join her ex-husband and daughters, Beatrice and Eugene, at Westminster Abbey, according to The independent.

The apparent exclusion comes despite Ms Ferguson’s recent media blitz where she showed unwavering support for the royal family.

“She has been hugely supportive of Charles and Camilla and does not want this to become about her,” her friend told the outlet.

“The whole day is about the new King and the success of his reign but she has always championed the royal family and the Queen undoubtedly would have wanted her to be there.”

The palace confirmed Prince Harry will travel alone to London to see his father crowned King, reuniting the spare heir with his estranged family for the first time since the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

Ms Markle will stay behind at the couple’s Montecito home to celebrate Prince Archie’s fourth birthday, which falls on the same day as Britain’s new sovereign ascends the throne.

Ms Markle’s unofficial biographer, Omid Scobie, suggested the American princess chose her children over the crowning moment of her father-in-law.

“I understand that Archie’s fourth birthday (also on May 6) played a factor in the couple’s decision,” he said.

“Expect it to be a fairly quick trip to the UK for Prince Harry, who will only be attending the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey.”

Prince Harry had been debating whether to return for the coronation after reportedly holding out for an apology from his family that never came.

He was also said to have been quibbling with the palace over whether their eldest, Archie, would be an active participant in the coronation amid reports the King elevated Camilla’s five grandchildren to key roles.

When asked in January whether he would attend, Prince Harry said the “door is always open” but that the “ball is in their court”.

“There’s a lot that can happen between now and then,” he said. “There’s a lot to be discussed, and I really hope that they’re willing to sit down and talk about it.”
