Meghan has spoken candidly about “painful” times in her life during the latest episode of her podcast.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, touched upon the sensitive subject while speaking with Clevr Blends co-creator Hannah Mendoza on Confessions of a Female Founder this week, admitting that “every day is not going to be the same” when you’re running a business.

“Some days are going to be harder to show up as your best and shiniest self,” Meghan said.

“Maybe on that day, something really painful happened in your real life, but for your team, that is not how you show up. You can’t.”

It comes amid an intense period for Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, who gave an astonishingly candid half-hour interview to the BBC on Friday after losing an appeal regarding his UK security detail, which was altered after the pair stepped down as working royals.

Meanwhile, last week, Meghan also made her first guest appearance on a podcast, speaking to her friend and IT cosmetics co-founder Jamie Kern Lima about how she and Harry had “gone into the trenches” when they first started dating back in 2016.

She insisted that they are now more in a “honeymoon” phase than ever before, having started their new post-royal life in Montecito in 2020.

“You have to imagine, at the beginning it’s all butterflies – but then we immediately went into the trenches together,” Meghan explained.

“Right out of the gate, like six months into dating. So now seven years later, when you have a little bit of breathing space, you can just enjoy each other in a new way. And that’s why I feel like it’s more of a honeymoon period for us now.”

The duchess also gushed over her marriage, praising Harry for supporting her as she launched her multiple businesses recently.

“H, that man loves me so much and you know, look what we’ve built. We have built a beautiful life and we have two healthy beautiful children,” she said.

“I always think about it, when you get the end of Super Mario Bros, the final level and what’s the goal in Super Mario.

“It’s to slay the dragons and save the princess. And that’s my husband, he just out there and constantly doing whatever he can to make sure our family is safe and protected and that we are uplifted – and still make time for date nights.”

Elsewhere during the chat, Meghan giggled as she described him as “a fox” and “very handsome”.
