Meghan Markle made a spring style statement while hosting an art event with Prince Harry.
In new Instagram photos from the March 21 celebration honouring the Kinsey African American Art & History Collection, the Duchess of Sussex sported a $US3,790 Carolina Herrera cape covered in delicate floral embroidery.
She unbuttoned the tiered black outerwear during the outing at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, revealing a black top and matching pants beneath.
Markle, 42, completed her look with black flats, keeping her hair down and loose around her face.
“The cape that Meghan is wearing is beautiful!” one Instagram user gushed of the ensemble, while another added, “Love when she wears @carolinaherrera.”
Harry, for his part, sported a black suit as the couple helped showcase “one of the most extensive holdings of African American art, artefacts, and documents.”
The former actress’s mum, Doria Ragland, also attended in a cream cardigan and posed for a photo with Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles.
The event included a “moderated conversation” discussing “the history and significance of Black art and how various communities can work together to preserve this vital piece of American history.”
The outing came amid conspiracy theories about the Sussexes’ sister-in-law Kate Middleton’s whereabouts, with the Princess of Wales revealing her cancer diagnosis in a video the following day.
Markle and Harry, 39, who reportedly found out about the 42-year-old’s health issues on TV, reacted with a statement.
“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” the duo said at the time.
Page Six confirmed that Markle and the former military pilot also reached out to Middleton privately.
