Kevin Spacey claims he heard ‘message’ of ‘support’ from King Charles amid sex scandal

Kevin Spacey, whose career tanked following allegations of sexual misconduct, has made a wild claim about the King.

Kevin Spacey's King Charles 'support' claim

Kevin Spacey has claimed that he “heard a message” of support from King Charles during his recent sex scandal.

The Oscar-winner, 64, was cleared of all charges related to the alleged sexual assault of four men in a London court mid-last year. However, he’s due to face a civil trial in the UK early next year after another man filed a lawsuit claiming Spacey had sexually assaulted him.

The actor has denied all accusations made against him.

However, after the allegations first surfaced in 2017, Spacey suffered a swift career downturn, during which he was stripped of an international Emmy award, was edited out of a Ridley Scott film, and had his character abruptly killed off in the hit Netflix series House of Cards.

During his first major TV interview in years, Spacey told Piers Morgan on Tuesday that he’d heard from Charles via a third party amid his legal woes.

While the actor claimed on the Uncensored show that he hadn’t heard from the monarch directly, he’d been passed a “message” after the allegations against him surfaced.

“No, I haven’t heard from him directly, no,” he told Morgan, who pressed him on whether he’d heard through “other people”.

“That may be true. I heard a message, yes, and I’m very, very grateful for that,” Spacey responded, before confirming with a “yes” in response to Morgan’s question of whether Charles had offered “support”.

He added that it had “meant a lot to him” but that he didn’t want to “drag [Charles] into all of this”.

Spacey was issued an honorary knighthood in 2016 by then-Prince Charles at Clarence House, in recognition for his services to theatre, just one year before the allegations against him were made public.

Elsewhere in his emotional TV interview, Morgan grilled Spacey about the multiple allegations against him, prompting the American Beauty star to concede that in the past he had been guilty of “being too handsy, touching someone sexually in a way that I didn’t know at the time they didn’t want”.

But he denied that any of those actions could be classified as criminal conduct, insisting he had “been gentle with people”.

“You want to be gentle. You want to see if they’re going to respond positively,” he said.

Spacey also revealed that he’d been on the brink of bankruptcy following his expensive legal battles.

He admitted to the British presenter that his Baltimore home was being “foreclosed on” and sold at auction, and he was “not quite sure” where he was now going to live.

Spacey, who was reported to have a net worth of around $US70 million back in 2022, also revealed that he had “none” of his fortune left.

“I still owe a lot of legal bills that I have not been able to pay,” he told Morgan.
