There were exciting scenes at Euro 2024 as Prince William joined King Frederik of Denmark to watch England battle it out with the Danes. See the photos.

What Princess Catherine's latest health update means for her return to royal duties

Prince William couldn’t have possibly found a better way to celebrate his upcoming 42nd birthday than hopping over to Germany to cheer on the Three Lions as they take on Denmark in the Euros.

And better yet, the Prince of Wales had royal company: King Frederik of Denmark was there to join his friendly footy foe in a nailbiter of a match which saw England, at time of publication, doing very well only to stall at one, all.

Prince William, who is president of the Football Association (FA), the ruling body for England’s soccer teams, watched his home side in their second group stage match at the Frankfurt Arena.

The royal was seen sharing smiles and banter with King Frederik, applauding at the national anthem and emotionally joining the singing, and even posing for a pre-match snap with Princess Isabella and the King of Denmark, which was shared on social media.

The trip is a solo one for William, as the Princess of Wales is away from public duties while she continues her treatment for cancer.

Prince William is one of hundreds of thousands of England fans travelling to Frankfurt throughout the Euro 2024 championship, which kicked off on 14 June.

Earlier today, cheering Three Lions fans turned Germany’s bars and fan zones into a sea of red and white for the clash with Denmark.

The Three Lions got off to a blistering start as skipper Harry Kane fired Gareth Southgate’s men into the lead with his 64th goal for his country.

Prince William attended England’s games in Euro 2020, which took place in Euro 2021 due to Covid, but skipped the Qatar World Cup.
