Kanye West’s recent social media activity hints at the possible reason behind his and wife Bianca Censori’s controversial stunt at the Grammys.

Kanye West’s recent social media activity hints at the possible reason behind he and wife Bianca Censori’s controversial stunt on the Grammy Awards red carpet earlier this week.

The pair shocked the world on the red carpet when he instructed his Aussie wife to “make a scene” and drop her fur coat to reveal her near-naked body in front of a mob of photographers.

Since then, West has gleefully taken to social media to repeatedly boast about Censori now being the “most Googled person on the planet”.

Given his not-so-humble brags, it’s clear the rapper had one mission he wanted to accomplish at the event: to make Censori the most talked about woman in the world.

“We beat the Grammies [sic],” he gloated in an Instagram Story on Tuesday before adding in a follow-up post: “For clarity/February 4th 2025/My wife is the most Googled person on the planet called Earth.”

West, 47, then proceeded to post screenshots of Google search analytics, which appeared to show that “Bianca Censori grammys” was a term searched more than 5 million times on the Google Trends list, thus making her the number-one searched topic at the time.

Of course, the Gold Digger singer also took the opportunity to promote his Yeezy fashion line.

“The most googled person on earth wearing YZY women’s,” he wrote in another Instagram Story alongside a grainy photo of Censori stretching while wearing a barely-there, black bodysuit.

On Wednesday, West was still basking in post-Grammys stunt glory when he again referred to his wife’s new Google status.

“Me and my wife the most Googled person on the planet,” he captioned one Instagram Story of them emerging for the first time in LA since sparking controversy at the star-studded event.

In a surprise move, this time Censori was covered from top to toe in a white bomber jacket and sheer white leggings.

In another Instagram Story, West shared photos of them kissing on that outing, which he captioned, “Smooching the most Googled human being on the planet known as Earth.”

His brag-fest about his wife setting a new “world record” for being the most searched person on Google appears to be a veiled dig at his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.

Back in 2014, Kardashian posed for Paper magazine wearing nothing but pearls and black gloves as she showed off her famous bottom on the cover.

The headline “Break The Internet” was splashed on the front and the star lived up to the coverline as she very much “broke the internet” with her front-page stunt.

That year, Kardashian went on to become the second most searched person in the world behind actress Jennifer Lawrence, who at the time was at the centre of a celebrity nude hacking scandal in which female stars had their nude photos stolen and posted online.

While West continues to gloat, many were left unimpressed by his and Censori’s stunt – none more so than Raj Kapoor, the executive producer of the 2025 Grammys.

Speaking to People magazine, Kapoor said there are “standards” at the awards show – and the controversial couple surely did not meet them.

The producer told the masthead that guests are meant to follow an “artistic black-tie” dress code, adding, “but in the music industry, I guess that’s up for interpretation.”

“Obviously there is a dress code for anybody actually performing on the show that we have to adhere to standards and practices,” Kapoor said.

“But as far as people attending and nominees attending, that would be something the [Recording] Academy would have to answer.”

While the Academy has not publicly shared their exact wardrobe rules, CBS – which broadcasts the Grammys – issued a “wardrobe advisory” in 2013 stating that “buttocks and female breasts” should be “adequately covered” at the event.

In the statement obtained by Deadline at the time, CBS asked that “all talent appearing on camera”, including “audience members”, “please adhere to Network policy concerning wardrobe”.

Guests are asked to avoid “sheer” or “see-through” clothing that “could possibly expose female breast nipples” and the exposure of “bare fleshy under curves of the buttock and buttock crack”.

They also required that the “genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible ‘puffy’ bare skin exposure.”

Evidentially, Censori’s barely-there outfit broke nearly all the rules.
