HE has one failed engagement behind him but that didn’t stop Zayn Malik, 23, reportedly proposing to Gigi Hadid.

Malik and Hadid only started dating each other in November 2015, and had a short breakup as the former One Direction singer battled anxiety issues.

It’s been just one year since Malik called off his two-year engagement to Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, 23.

Life & Style reports that Malik proposed to Hadid but she said no.

She’s only 21 and doesn’t feel ready to tie the knot, so she turned him down,” a source said.

Hadid’s mother, former Real Housewife of Beverly Hills, Yolanda Hadid, recently split from music producer husband David Foster.

Yolanda Hadid also divorced Gigi’s father, Mohammed Hadid, meaning the model is wary of not repeating similar mistakes.

“She’s seen her mum go through two messy divorces, so Gigi wants to make 100 per cent sure Zayn’s the one before she makes a lifetime commitment,” the source said.

Malik’s former One Direction band mates are growing up fast after being thrust into the spotlight as teenagers. Louis Tomlinson, 24, has a son Freddie, who turns one next month, while Liam Payne is expecting a baby with his girlfriend, Cheryl Cole.
