GRAMMY-NOMINATED Aussie singer Sia and her filmmaker-husband, Erik Anders Lang, are separating.
In a statement released through a spokesperson on Wednesday, Sia and Lang said that “after much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple”.
They were married in August 2014. They said they are “dedicated to remaining friends”.
No more details were provided.
Sia, who has written songs for Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry and others, is now best known for her own hits like Chandelier and Cheap Thrills.
The notoriously fame-shy star, who hides her face on stage and usually does not appear in her own videos, earned three Grammy nominations on Tuesday, including best pop vocal album for This Is Acting.
Lang’s website says he has created documentaries for Louis Vuitton, Honda, MTV and other companies.
Prior to her marriage with Lang, 40-year-old Adelaide-born Sia — who has described her sexuality as ‘flexible’ in the past — had a long-term same-sex relationship with JD Samson of feminist band Le Tigre, ending in 2011.
