Sad detail in Jennifer Lopez’s divorce filing to Ben Affleck

One detail in Jennifer Lopez’s divorce filing has jumped out after months of speculation she was divorcing Ben Affleck.

A sad detail has emerged in the wake of Jennifer Lopez filing for divorce from husband Ben Affleck.

The singer and actress officially filed for divorce in Los Angeles on Thursday. But a detail in the paperwork showed the listing for their date of separation was April 26 which means the couple had not been together for nearly four months.

In those months, it was widely speculated that the pair, known affectionately as Bennifer, had gone their separate ways, but neither party confirmed or denied the rumours.

Despite the secret split, they put on a united front with their blended family — Lopez’s 16-year-old twins Max and Emme, and Affleck’s children, Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.

On occasion, Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, would attend their children’s end-of-year school events together, although they would arrive and leave the events in separate cars.

However, the facade started to crack and it was reported in early August that they were no longer on speaking terms in the weeks leading up to Lopez’s filing.

It appears things became acrimonious when Affleck didn’t attend Lopez’s luxurious Bridgerton-themed 55th birthday party in the Hamptons on July 24.

Instead, the actor closed escrow on his new $US20.5 million home in Los Angeles.

“Ben didn’t come to celebrate Jennifer’s birthday because they are done,” a source told Fox News Digital earlier this month. “Totally done. They are not getting back together.”

“They are not communicating right now,” the source added. “If she wants to talk to his kids, she goes straight to the kids. Same with him.”

Lopez’s decision to file for divorce on August 20 local time is also the final blow for the couple as that date would’ve marked their second wedding anniversary.

The couple were first married in Las Vegas in July 2022.

They exchanged vows again on August 20, 2022 at Affleck’s lavish estate in Georgia.

The duo were first engaged in 2002 only to break off their engagement in 2004. They reconnected again in 2021 before tying the knot twice in 2022: one in a quickie Las Vegas wedding and then again at a lavish affair at Affleck’s estate in the US state of Georgia.

“This is heaven. Right here. We’re in it now,” Lopez wrote in her newsletter to fans at the time. “He also said it the night of our wedding reception in his speech, and I thought...how perfect.”

“We had both been married before and we aren’t exactly kids any more but somehow now seemed like the only age that made sense...for us, this was perfect timing.”

Lopez was previously married to singer Marc Anthony, the father of her twins, from 2004 to 2014, and Affleck was married to actress Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2015, during which they welcomed their three children.
