Sabrina Carpenter gushed over Barry Keoghan while making a rare comment about her boyfriend in a new interview.
The Espresso singer complimented the actor on CBS Sunday Morning while reflecting on her decision to cast him as her love interest in her Please Please Please music video.
“I, genuinely — like, a not-even-biased opinion — I was like, ‘Who’s the greatest actor that I can find for this music video?’” she said, reports Page Six.
“And he was next to me in a chair. And he was so excited about it!”
In the music video, Keoghan, 31, portrays a criminal heart-throb who gets arrested for robbing a woman at gunpoint and is ultimately handcuffed to a chair by his lover, Carpenter, 25.
While the pop star is clearly a fan of the Saltburn star’s on-screen talent, he has equal admiration for her career.
“He likes the song, which is great,” she said of the hit from her recently released Short n’ Sweet album.
Carpenter noted that Keoghan “does like [her] music a lot.”
The Feather singer has been known for keeping her relationship with the Banshees of Inisherin star quite private.
The couple has been romantically linked since December 2023 when they were spotted enjoying dinner in Los Angeles.
Since then, Keoghan has been seen in the audience at several of Carpenter’s concerts.
The pair was hit with break-up rumours in August when a tipster told gossip Instagram account Deuxmoi that they were “on and off.”
However, Page Six exclusively reported in September that Keoghan showed support for Carpenter by watching her rehearse for her 2024 MTV Music Video Awards performance.
While Carpenter has rarely put their love on display — aside from locking lips with the Irish star in her steamy music video released in June — she has praised his acting in the past.
“I don’t want to sound biased, but I think he’s one of the best actors of this generation,” she told Variety in August.
“So getting to see him on the screen with my song as the soundtrack made the video better and all the more special.”
That same month, the Girl Meets World star told the Guardian that working with Keoghan was “one of the best experiences [she has] ever had” and that she felt “very honoured” to have collaborated with “such a great actor.”
Carpenter was previously romantically linked to Joshua Bassett and Shawn Mendes, while Keoghan has a 2-year-old son, Brando, with his ex-girlfriend Alyson Sandro.
