KYLIE MINOGUE’S ex-fiance Joshua Sasse’s professional and love life are now both in tatters after the cancellation of his US show No Tomorrow.
The actor, 29, was fronting the comedy-drama, his first transatlantic starring role, where he played a man who believed the apocalypse was coming in eight months.
But ratings for big American network The CW were dire, slumping to half a million people tuning in to watch the series’ finale, reports The Sun.
A network source confirmed: “It’s not coming back. The show performed extremely badly — sometimes these things just don’t work out.”
And insiders close to the actor told how he was devastated by the blow as, following his split with his popstar fiance, he had banked on making a name for himself in America.
It was revealed last week that the Australian superstar, 48, had left him after she suspected he had cheated on her with Spanish actress Marta Milans, who briefly appeared in No Tomorrow.
A source close to Sasse said: “It’s just more bad news after another at the moment and he was really down when the show was cancelled.
“Now after the split he doesn’t want to hang around in the UK for too long as he knows he’ll just be known as Kylie’s ex everywhere he goes.
“He was hoping he could build a profile in Los Angeles off the back of the show and make a name for himself out there as very few people relate to him as Kylie’s ex.
“At the moment he’s staying with his parents in England but he’ll be back to LA as soon as possible to give things another go.”
