An up-and-coming country singer has left a podcast host shocked by revealing the famous A-lister she wasn’t “exclusive” with.

Country singer Megan Moroney has admitted she’s hooked up with a private A-lister on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast.

The 26-year-old, who has over a million Instagram followers and has been making a name for herself on the American country music scene, went on the podcast where all the Gen Z celebrities spill their secrets.

Moroney, who has just released her second album, Am I Okay?, which mainly consists of heartbreak songs, admitted on the podcast that there’s some truth to the reports that she used to date A-lister Morgan Wallen.

Wallen, 31, has cemented himself as one of the biggest stars not just in country music; his 2023 song Last Night was a number-one smash in America, and his collaboration I Had Some Help with Post Malone has been climbing up the charts since its release in May.

“Did you date Morgan Wallen?” Cooper asked.

“Never exclusively,” Moroney shot back.

Moroney then clarified that she’s always tried to “avoid” this question in every interview, but she said, “Time has passed, and all is well.”

‘It was never a relationship,” she added.

The country singer explained that they met in 2020 and were friends for a while. This was before Wallen’s record-breaking Dangerous album came out, and she was still at university.

Moroney said it went like this: “We have been friends for a long time; we were not just friends, and now we are friends.”

“I love that answer,” Cooper replied.

Again, Moroney clarified they were never “officially dating,” but she added that she’s very “sensitive” and it is easy for her to get heartbroken.

Cooper then questioned how they were able to keep their relationship so private, but Moroney said it wasn’t “hard” because he is a “private person.”

Wallen toldBillboard in 2023 that since he’d become so famous, he can’t do normal things anymore without being recognised.

“I don’t really go to the grocery store. I have to go through back doors to go to the doctor and all that kind of stuff. I still try to hold on to as much as possible. I like driving, so I try to drive as much as I can by myself,” he said.

Moroney did draw the line at revealing if her song Tennessee Orange is about Wallen, Wallen hails from Tennessee.

“I will not say who my songs are about ever,” she declared.
