Jolie was spotted shopping for her six kids at a toy store in the Beverly Center mall in Los Angeles at the end of August, the last time she was seen out in public before filing for divorce from Brad Pitt.
Jolie, who was shopping alone, was not wearing her wedding ring suggesting she may have already called time on her marriage to Pitt.
Removal vans were seen yesterday at Jolie and Pitt’s compound in the Hollywood Hills with Access Hollywood reporting that Jolie and the children are now at a Malibu rental home where the children are being home schooled.
Radar Online reported that an insider said it was their respective careers that killed their marriage.
Radar Online reported that the source, who is close to the family, said the pair were always really competitive and this intensified in their careers over the past year.
BRAD’S BEHAVIOUS INVESTIGATED
Brad Pitt has reportedly been referred to the FBI over claims he verbally and physically abused his children on an international flight — allegations he strenuously denies.
Jolie reportedly filed for divorce after Pitt allegedly “went wild, screaming and getting physical with the kids” while flying from France to the US on a private jet on September 14, sources told TMZ.
Pitt, 52, allegedly continued his drunken rant on the tarmac and tried to leave in one of the fuel trucks at a US airport, according to TMZ.
Following an anonymous tip, LA County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) officials met Jolie and Pitt at the airport, Us Weekly reports. Officials took statements before letting the couple go.
A source close to Pitt told TMZ the actor denies the abuse allegations.
“He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children,” the source said. “It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.”
BRANGELINA’S RELATIONSHIP TIMELINE
Another source said Pitt admitted to screaming at, but not hitting, his children.
“He was never physically abusive to her or the kids,” a source told The New York Post. “He did yell at one of their children on the plane during an argument, but he didn’t hit the child. Brad is denying claims of inappropriate behaviour.”
While TMZ reported that police investigated the incident, LAPD denied the claim, telling Us Weekly: “LAPD is not handling any report or allegations into child abuse for Mr Brad Pitt.”
TMZ later claimed LAPD’s Abused Child Unit looked into the incident but, because it occurred on an international flight, was out of their jurisdiction and they referred it to the FBI.
JOLIE’S BROTHER STEPS IN AS NANNY
With his sister’s marriage in turmoil, James Haven has reportedly stepped in to help look after her children.
New photos, taken a day before Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt on Monday, show Haven with three of the couple’s children — Shiloh, 10, and twins Vivienne and Knox, eight — at a LA park. Haven and the kids played baseball and rested at a picnic table during the outing.
In July, OKMagazine.com claimed Haven had been helping to raise his nieces and nephews.
“Brad’s absolutely working his butt off right now and the kids rarely see him,” a source told OKMagazine.com. “He leaves for the set before they wake and comes home after they’ve gone to bed.”
The source added: “There are days when James spends more time with them than either of their busy parents, but hopefully they’ll intervene if they start calling him ‘mum’ too!”
Haven has previously been seen accompanying Jolie and her six children to Cambodia where the Hollywood star was shooting a movie.
Haven rose to prominence in 2000 when he passionately locked lips with his famous sister at the Oscars.
“I’m — I’m in shock. And I’m just so in love with my brother right now,” Jolie said when she won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for Girl, Interrupted that night. “He (Haven) just held me and said he loved me and I know he’s so happy for me.”
PITT ASKED JOLIE TO HOLD OFF ON DIVORCE
People magazine reports that Pitt wanted Jolie to hold off on filing divorce papers.
“She sat down, talked to Brad and offered to file [for divorce] together,” a source close to Jolie told People. “She said, ‘This is what I’d like to do.’ She explained everything. Angelina did what she felt she needed to do.”
While Pitt was hopeful Jolie would agree, a source close to him said he was “wrecked” when she filed the papers the next day.
“He was appealing to her to do this quietly — not to save the marriage but to consider the wellbeing of the children — and it was ignored,” contends the Pitt source. “He is just wrecked by this.”
PITT’S EX SAYS HE WAS ‘RELIGIOUS, FAMILY ORIENTATED’
Pitt’s ex-girlfriend Sinitta Renay Malone has weighed into the demise of Brangelina, saying the Fight Club actor was “very religious” and “family orientated” when she knew him.
The American-born, UK-based singer dated Pitt in the late 1980s, shortly before his role in Thelma and Louise turned him into one of Hollywood’s hottest stars.
“The Brad Pitt that I knew was from a very religious family and was very family orientated,” the ‘80s pop star told British TV program Lorraine. “He was just a lovely, lovely, guy. I think it’s a real shame [what’s happening now.]”
During her time on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! in 2011, the 52-year-old singer spoke openly about their time together.
“He was fun, he was young and very sweet. Some ardent fan gave me a slap when I came out of a supermarket over that relationship!” he said. “It was before he made Thelma And Louise but even I saw that movie and thought ‘Oh my God, what have I done?’”
