ANGELINA Jolie appears to be sending a none-too-subtle message to Brad Pitt, based on her latest legal manoeuvre in their bitter custody battle.

Jolie filed court documents on Friday that made their temporary custody arrangement public — even though nothing has changed since it was struck in October, according to documents obtained by People magazine.

Jolie, 41, maintains physical custody of the estranged couple’s six children, while Pitt, 52, has “agreed upon therapeutic visitation”

The documents note that Pitt’s visitation will be determined by psychologist Ian Russ, PhD. Pitt and the children will also participate in individual and group therapy sessions, and the Allied star will also take random drug and alcohol tests at least four times a month.

“There is absolutely nothing different about the situation today as opposed to yesterday as opposed to when this agreement was put into place,” a source told People. “This is pure spin and manipulation, as absolutely nothing has changed. The original agreement is temporary and voluntary and that has not changed in the slightest; absolutely no binding agreement has been made, no final decisions have been made, and there is nothing that should be presented as a legally binding custody arrangement at this time. There is zero legal purpose for filing this. Zero.”

The source added, “Brad has always placed the interests of his children first and foremost, and has been accommodating and agreeable for now due to his desire to continue putting his children first. Particularly during the holiday season, embarking on legal filings at this moment doesn’t feel imperative.”

Family law specialist Steve Mindel explained that Jolie’s move seems liked a pointed one — and that the kids’ safety can potentially be compromised because of it.

“Now that she’s filed this document, people are getting more information about her children: where they are, what their schedules are, and so forth. And at their wealth level, privacy is very important for their safety,” Mindel said. “Her filing is definitely sending a message to Brad that she wants this more in the public than less in the public.”

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September after two years of marriage and over a decade together, citing concerns about his parenting after an alleged altercation with son Maddox, 15, during a flight.

The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services and the FBI both cleared Pitt of any abuse claims.

Reps for Pitt and Jolie didn’t immediately return a request for comment.
