Robert Irwin heads to the Tonight Show to show off his animal knowledge

THE spitting image of his Dad, Robert Irwin isn’t about to let his family name fade into obscurity, continuing the animal-loving legacy on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show.

THE youngest Irwin hit up the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night to educate the audience on animals, proving he’s just as charming as his world-famous dad.

Robert is the youngest child and the spitting image of the late Steve Irwin who passed away in September 2006, after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb.

Despite Robert being less than three years old at the time of his father’s death, his passion for wildlife and conservation seems to have rubbed off on the 13-year old and he showed off this enthusiasm on the Tonight Show.

The interview started with a flashback photo of Steve Irwin feeding an iguana with Robert as a toddler.

When the animal-loving teen launched into information about what the green iguana liked to eat, Fallon told him: “It’s so cool to see you speak like this, you’re actually your Dad.”

“It’s really nice to be able to follow in his footsteps, it’s really great,” replied Irwin.

The Irwins have grown up at the world-famous Australia Zoo since they were babies, which Robert explained forged him as an animal lover.

“It’s just in my blood,” he explained.

The 13-year old wildlife warrior is also a keen photographer, often posting professional shots of wildlife to his Instagram.

Irwin surprised Fallon and The Tonight Show audience with a number of audiences.
First he brought out Beetlejuice, the African dwarf crocodile.

“Isn’t he just amazing, he’s gorgeous,” Irwin exclaimed.

Next was an armadillo with a hairy stomach which Fallon thought looked “like Donald Trump’s toupe.”

Things went a little awry when Irwin decided to bring out a red-tailed boa constrictor.

“She’s trying to kill me,” said Fallon as the snake started squeezing the late-night host’s arms.

The TV host was even more on edge when the snake, hilariously named Lady, popped her head on his arm to say hello.

“No, get away from me!” he said.

Lady might’ve been a fan of the late-night host but it wasn’t until they brought out the 11kg sloth Serenity that Fallon found love.

“I think it’s official, you are the sloth whisperer,” said Irwin.
