WHILE it might be super common for mums and daughters to look alike and sons to look like their fathers, it’s a little more rare to come across sons who look exactly like their mothers do.
Australian actress Naomi Watts took to Instagram to celebrate Mother’s Day, posting a photo of an old school photo next to portraits of her two boys Alexander and Samuel.
Watts captioned the shot “The classic tomboy became the mother of these two. Lucky beyond words” which had plenty of her followers scratching their heads and struggling to pick which photo was the throwback.
The only thing that seems to give it away is the older looking frame the middle photo is sitting in but, even their haircuts are almost exactly the same.
Watts has two children with fellow actor Leiv Schreiber, Alexander, nine and Samuel, 8.
The couple announced they were separating last September after 11 years together.
Despite their separation, both actors have spoken about intending to be excellent co-parents.
In an upcoming interview with Vogue Australia, Watts speaks glowingly about her former partner.
“He’s a fantastic dad, a wonderful, wonderful man, and we still want the absolute best for each other,” she says.
“There are good days and bad days and Liev and I are on great terms and we’re trying to do our absolute best for the sake of the children and we hope to keep moving forward in that way.”
And, while Watts did look exactly like her two boys, there’s one celebrity daughter that instead looks exactly like her father.
Despite most people claiming Reese Witherspoon’s daughter Ava Philippe looks exactly like the Oscar-winning actress, it’s very obvious the 17-year-old actually looks exactly like her dad, actor Ryan Phillippe.
