Modern Family star Rico Rodriguez loses 52-year-old dad

RICO Rodriguez, who plays Modern Family’s sweet teen Manny, has taken to Instagram to reveal the sudden death of his dad.

RICO Rodriguez, who plays the beloved teenager Manny Delgado on Modern Family, has mourned the sudden death of his dad Roy.

The 18-year-old actor lost his dad last weekend and took to Instagram today to reveal his heartbreak sharing a photo of them enjoying a milkshake together.

“This has been the toughest week of my life. My Dad was the most kind hearted, loving, hard working, determined, and funny man I have ever known. He was like a super hero, he had the ability to get the best out of you day in and day out,” he wrote.

“I’m gonna miss your hugs. I’m gonna miss your advice. I’m gonna miss your smile, and I’m gonna miss your laugh. I know you’re looking down at us right now giving us the green light to move forward. I miss you Daddy. I’ll love you forever — Your youngest.”

The young actor is one of four kids to parents Diana and Roy Rodriguez, who was 52-years-old when he died.

His older sister Raini is also an actor.

Rodriguez’s on-screen Modern Family mum Sofia Vergara tweeted support for the actor.

The Modern Family star posted a photo of his parents last year to celebrate their 33rd wedding anniversary captioning the photo with “You two are the prime example that true love has no end”.

Roy was laid to rest at a funeral on Saturday.
