The daughter of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, Carys Zeta-Jones, has made her debut at the Cannes Film Festival.
The 20-year-old aspiring musician appeared alongside her famous parents on the red carpet at the opening ceremony and Jeanne du Barry screening on Tuesday, looking like the spitting image of her mother.
Carys wore a full-length, semi-sheer white netted gown with intricate detailing, while her dark hair was pulled back in an elegant bun and accessorised with statement diamond earrings.
Meanwhile, her mother was typically glamorous in a plunging red flowing gown, paired with a crimson lipstick.
Her father was awarded an honorary Palme d’Or award during the evening, in celebration of his lengthy career. The festival will also screen a previously-unreleased documentary about his life, titled Michael Douglas: The Prodigal Son, as part of the tribute.
The Cannes Film Festival holds some special memories for Douglas and Jones, who met there in 1998.
During a 2016 appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, the actor revealed the pick-up line he’d used on his future wife.
“I said to her after about half an hour [into their first encounter], ‘You know, I’m going to be the father of your children’,” he told the host, before sharing her response.
“You know, I’ve heard a lot about you and I’ve seen a lot about you, and I think it’s time I say goodnight,” Zeta-Jones reportedly told him.
But his line must have worked, as the pair ended up getting married just two years later and are considered one of the industry’s most solid couples.
They both shared gushing tributes to each other in honour of their anniversary last November, with Douglas calling Zeta-Jones his “darling” in a sweet Instagram post.
His wife described him as her “sweetheart” in her own anniversary message.
Earlier this year, Douglas also shared the very X-rated way they keep their regular golf games interesting, admitting that Zeta-Jones makes him “whip it out” if he doesn’t “hit it past the ladies' tee”.
The raunchy golf tactic was first referenced by the actress in 2016 when she told The Graham Norton Show: “We have a bet that if he ducks a shot, he has to drop his pants.”
Zeta-Jones then joked: “There has been an issue with paparazzi, so I make him go into the bushes. A deal is a deal.”
