Aussie pop star Kylie Minogue has posed for her most daring photo shoot in years, flashing her very famous bum on the cover of the next issue of Perfect Magazine.
The striking photo is one of several alternative covers of the new issue of Perfect featuring Minogue, 55 – the others see the star looking virtually unrecognisable, in a long black wig, her hair tied up to a bunch of balloons in one arty photo.
The first cover image harks back to a Kylie classic: the iconic music video to her 2000 comeback single Spinning Around, which caused such a stir with those revealing gold hotpants.
The other images show Kylie as she’s barely ever been seen – as a dark brunette, looking more Angelina Jolie than Ms Minogue:
The magazine’s fourth alternative cover is perhaps the most traditional image of Minogue as fans are used to seeing her in recent years:
The mag cover comes as Minogue recently confirmed her oft-rumoured new career move: She’ll soon be launching her own Las Vegas residency, headlining at the Venetian Resort’s new Voltaire Nightclub from November.
Before that, though, comes the release of her upcoming sixteenth studio album Tension, due out on September 22.
It was heralded with lead single Padam Padam, the biggest hit Kylie’s had in years: a top 20 single here in Australia, and a top 10, 200,000-selling smash in her biggest market, the UK.
But with her Vegas residency, it seems Kylie’s set her sights firmly on conquering the US, a market where she’s always been a bit of a cult proposition, despite a handful of sizeable hits over the years.
Her 2001 album Fever selling over a million copies in the country and landing her a top 10 hit in Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, while other albums have flown under the radar.
Her last album, 2020s Disco, charted at a respectable 26 in the US, and she recently visited New York on a publicity blitz to promote her new music.
With her Vegas residency so far confirmed for “selected weekends in November, December and January,” it appears Minogue will be spending a lot more time in the US in the months to come.
