Britney Spears has confessed that seeing all the headlines and attention centring around her new memoir, The Woman In Me, have been “hard” to deal with.

The star’s tell-all book is expected to hit shelves on Monday, but some fans have already managed to get their hands on it.

With her name hitting headlines around the world, Spears has taken to social media to share that she’s been finding the reaction from fans and the media “hard”.

“Been so busy lately and there are so many hard things to read in the news about my book!!!” she wrote on Instagram on Thursday.

She went on to explain that the process of remembering her past had been traumatic for her: “Writing the book was so hard!!! Then I woke up this morning and said it’s all relative nothing really matters at this point. #TheWomanInMe”.

It comes after Spears revealed in her new memoir that she had a rendezvous with an Australian dancer, after learning that Justin Timberlake had cheated on her.

The singer revealed that she cheated on Justin Timberlake with dancer Wade Robson following years of rumours.

In her memoir, Spears claims she did cheat one time with the choreographer after finding out that Timberlake had cheated behind her back with a fellow celebrity.

Speaking about the moment, she says in her memoir: “We were out one night and we went to a Spanish bar. We danced and danced. I made out with him that night.”

The singer goes on to claim that she had been loyal to Timberlake for years “with that one exception”.

She also says that she came clean to Timberlake about the incident and that they had agreed to move past it.

Meanwhile, Britney was reportedly the mastermind behind the forthcoming re-release of her 2002 movie Crossroads.

The film is back in cinemas around the world and in Australia next week for two days to mark the release of her new book.

Director Tamra Davis revealed this week that Spears personally called Sony in a bid to have the film more available to fans.

“I get a call from Sony that after all these years of me trying, and my lawyer, it was Britney that called to get it rereleased because she wanted it to accompany her launch of the book,” she told Vanity Fair. “So, Sony came in and picked up the film from its original distributor, Paramount, and bought the rights.

She added: “It’s going to be available for this event, but then they’re going to do a streaming deal.”
