ARNHEM Land rapper Baker Boy will perform in Darwin later this year as part of a national tour to promote his debut album.
The almost month-long Gela Tour, which will also see the 24-year-old performer – real name Danzal Baker – travel to Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Fremantle, will be his largest Australian tour to date and his first headline tour since his Cool as Hell Tour in 2019.
It comes after the Yolngu artist announced the upcoming release of Gela just weeks ago in a post shared across his social media accounts.

“I feel like I have been promising this body of work for years now, and finally, FINALLY, it’s really coming!,” he wrote.
“It almost feels surreal making this announcement, I am beyond proud of Gela and I cannot wait for you to hear it!
“Gela is more than just the music, it is my experience of living in duality as a Yolngu Man and as the Fresh Prince of Arnhem Land as Baker Boy.
“This is my voice, my vision, for now.”
Baker Boy has released about 11 stand-alone singles since 2017 but Gela – which is due to be release on October 15 – will be his first album.
As part of the Gela Tour, Baker Boy will perform at the Darwin Entertainment Centre on Thursday, December 2
Tickets for tour performances go on sale this Friday, August 6 at 9am (AEST), though pre-sale tickets will be available from Thursday at 9am (AEST).
