All the 2025 Logie Awards nominations revealed
This year’s Gold Logie nominees have been revealed – but one was momentarily snubbed in awkward scenes at today’s announcement.
Logies
Don't miss out on the headlines from Logies. Followed categories will be added to My News.
It’s a stacked, nearly all-female list of celebs competing to win the Gold Logie this year, with former winner Hamish Blake the only male in contention for the night’s top TV prize.
TV presenters Ally Langdon, Julia Morris, Lisa Millar, Sonia Kruger and Poh Ling Yeow plus veteran Home and Away star Lynne McGranger are competing alongside Blake in the top category.
It makes a noticeable change for the Gold Logie nomination, which is usually fairly evenly split between male and female TV stars. Organisers could be hoping stacking the category with women might up the odds of a female winner, after only three winners in the past 15 years have been women (Kruger in 2023, Carrie Bickmore in 2015 and Asher Keddie in 2013).
And as you’ll see in the video at the top of this story, there were awkward scenes at a Logies event held in Sydney this morning, with news.com.au’s Andrew Bucklow in attendance to watch it all unfold.
Presenter Tara Rushton announced this year’s Gold nominees – but forgot Kruger, who was waiting in the wings to be called to the stage. Rushton had individually invited each nominee to join her on stage, bar McGranger, who she explained couldn’t be there.
But there was a visible ripple of panic among the other nominees when Rushton asked the assembled press to “put your hands together for all your Gold Logie nominees” – with Kruger still left awkwardly offstage, waiting to be announced.
“Oh, hold on – Sonia Kruger! I am never going to live this down,” said Rushton, as Kruger finally made her entrance.
“I’m so sorry, Sonee,” Rushton continued. “That’s me done.”
Elsewhere at the event, news.com.au cornered Hamish Blake to ask the obvious question: What will happen if this year’s sole male Gold Logie nominee ends up winning the award?
Blake, who previously won the award in 2022, admitted he was praying that wouldn’t be the case.
He told news.com.au in the video below that it felt like a “mild stitch-up” to be nominated.
“I’m just going to put it on record: never should someone win it less than I should win it this year. I think in this climate, in this day in age, the only guy getting up to win is the last thing anyone wants to see,” he said.
“I’m very happy to be nominated, a wonderful bunch of ladies I’m with … my god, it would be just a disaster if I won it.”
The ultimate winner of the Gold Logie will be determined by public vote and announced at a ceremony held at The Star Sydney on Sunday August 3, broadcast live on Seven.
Voting is now open for all awards and will remain open until 7pm AEST Friday 1 August 2025, except for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter, Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent and the Ray Martin Award for Most Popular News or Public Affairs Reporter which will close 7:30pm AEST Sunday 3 August.
Gold Logie votes will stay open until 10:30pm on Logies night.
