An actor famed for 90s hits like Scream 2, Go and Gone in 60 Seconds has been spotted in Bangkok looking very different indeed.

Timothy Olyphant, is that really you?
The Hollywood actor is currently in Bangkok, Thailand filming a new TV series called Alien: Earth, and has surfaced on the Instagram account of a local tailor while he picked up some custom suits.

“Hollywood star Timothy Olyphant was recently in our store as he was in Bangkok shooting a new movie. Everything custom, he loves his wool silk bespoke clothing!” Bangkok store Tailor On Ten captioned a series of photos this week.

But while he was dapper in his new threads, the 56-year-old star also looked near-unrecognisable, both his hair and eyebrows apparently bleached white.

Olyphant’s hair has been bleached since late last year, but with these new bright-white eyebrows, we can assume the extreme look is a part of the character Olyphant’s playing in Alien: Earth, a small screen spin-off of the iconic Alien franchise.

The series will act as a prequel to the films, and is set three decades before the events of the 1979 film that started it all, Alien. Olyphant will play Kirsh, a “synth mentor and trainer” to the show’s female protagonist.

Olyphant first shot to fame in the late 90s in teen films Scream 2 and Go, before moving to TV in the noughties with starring roles in shows like Deadwood, Justified and Santa Clarita Diet.

Olyphant opened up about shooting in Bangkok for this new series in a recent interview with Vanity Fair. The father of three, who’s been married to his college sweetheart Alexis Knief since 1991, confessed it’s not the sort of job he would’ve taken when his children were younger.

“If my kids were still living at home, I don’t think I would have done the job. I mean, Justified, Deadwood,Santa Clarita Diet, those really [kept] me here for a good stretch,” he revealed.

With his children now grown and out of the house, he explained his decision-making process for signing on to Alien: Earth.

“I just asked my wife, ‘You want to go to live in Bangkok for a few months?’ If she says yeah, I’m in. It’s a really fun time,” he said.

“Don’t tell the kids, but they’re not that missed.”
