Extended power outage closes buildings at CDU campus

STUDENTS and staff at Charles Darwin University’s Casuarina campus are being told to work from home if possible following a power outage on Thursday morning.
A number of buildings have been closed after the outage which started shortly after 9am.
The cause of the outage remains unknown but staff are investigating and working to rectify the issue.
“Buildings impacted by power outage at Casuarina campus are being closed,” a text message sent to students late this morning reads.
“Please leave these buildings and work from home if possible.”
A CDU spokeswoman said the library and some other buildings were unaffected by the outage.
“Charles Darwin University is currently experiencing a partial power outage at its Casuarina campus,” she said.
“The cause of the outage is currently being investigated and work to rectify the issue is ongoing.
“Staff and students in impacted buildings have been notified and advised that these buildings are being closed.”
