AN in-depth analysis of state and federal government funding data has revealed which schools receive the most government money in the Territory. How does your child’s school compare?

THE Territory’s best funded school received more than $64 million from the Territory and federal governments over three years, according to a new school analysis.

An in-depth analysis of the most recently available state and federal government funding data from the MySchool website has revealed the schools which receive more taxpayer money than any others.

Across the 2015, 2016 and 2017 years, Northern Territory’s most funded school was Darwin High School in Darwin City which received $64.8 million.

Of the money $48.8 million came from the Territory government and $16 million from the federal government.

In 2017 the combined state and federal government funds totalled to $17,429 per student, with 1326 students enrolled the same year.

TOP 50 best funded schools in the NT in 2015, 2016 and 2016

Over those same years the school which received the second most funding was Taminmin College in Humpty Doo which received $59.2 million, $15 million of which was from the federal government and $44 million from the Territory government.

At Taminmin College in 2017, the combined state and federal government funds totalled to $20,431 per student, with 1040 students enrolled the same year.

The third most funded school was Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr Catholic College in Wadeye which received $58.4 million, $52 million of which was from the federal government and $6.1 million from the Territory government.

In 2017 the combined state and federal government funds totalled to $20,431 per student at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, with 627 students enrolled the same year.
