HAILEYBURY Rendall School Darwin raised a record $15,000 for the World’s Greatest Shave this week.
On Thursday, 15 students from Years 3 to 12 and one staff member shaved their heads to support blood cancer research.
Another student donated most of her hair to help make a wig, and others raised money by colouring their hair.
Haileybury principal Craig Glass said it was a record amount raised at the school, with the entire cohort watching their peers and teacher get shaved.
“This has become one of the school’s favourite days of the year,” Mr Glass said.
“We thank the students and staff who made it such a great event for such a worthy cause.”
The school also raised money through non-permanent tattoos, and a barbecue which was organised by the Clontarf Academy.
