WITH such a high quality of childcare educators, it was never going to be easy for Territorians to pick their favourite.
But given her standing and reputation within the community, it’s no surprise Nightcliff Family Centre’s “Nonna” Caterina Venturin has found herself atop the list of those caring for our children every day.

“I feel very honoured to be recognised as the Territory’s most popular childcare educator as I have been here for many, many years,” she said.
“So thank you to everyone and last of all, God bless you all.”
While the job may seem daunting to some, it is one Ms Venturin approaches everyday with compassion.
“(The) most rewarding part of my job is greeting my babies in the morning, giving them my love and affection and having a chat with the parents and families,” she said.
“I make sure the children are always safe and happy and I am always there for them and again I give them all my love.”
Much like the families she works with, the staff at the centre agree with the Territory’s decision, saying her genuine love for children makes working with her a treat every single day.
Coming in second in our poll was Elsee Tattingham of Murraya Children’s Centre Lenayer with 10.07 per cent of the total). Equal third was Mel Hinton from Child Australia Farrar Early Learning Centre and Charmaine Marshall from Scallywags Child Care Moulden with 9.52 per cent of the vote each, in front of fifth placed Jo Vlassco of Malak family centre with 8.33 per cent of the total.
