A man has been crushed to death while operating a recycling truck in Melbourne’s southeast.
The 28-year-old was working alone on the recycling truck and emptying bins in Melbourne suburb Pakenham about 10am on Friday when the tragedy unfolded.
It’s understood the man jumped off the back of the truck and tried to empty the bin when he became caught in the vehicle.
“It is believed the 28-year-old man was working alone attempting to empty a bin when he became entangled in a lifting mechanism and was crushed inside the back of the truck,” a spokesperson for WorkSafe Victoria said.
The man tragically died.
