POPULAR Darwin venue The Tap bar on Mitchell St has announced it was closing its doors until further notice.
In a social media post today, The Tap manager Aneeta Clark thanked the bar’s staff and patrons for their support through what had been a tumultuous time for hospitality businesses during the coronavirus pandemic.

“I would like to thank all the patrons who have stayed loyal to us, supported us (and) brought smiles and cheer our way during these difficult times,” she said.
“The staff who have been outstanding in maintaining high levels of optimism under stress, and have adapted to the circumstances and undertaken new tasks improve the business with gusto, I am lucky to have you all on my team.”
Ms Clark said she looked to working with the venue’s staff again in the future, hopefully in “a few weeks time”.
