Special Report: Brightstar Resources has its Fish gold mine fully operational, becoming the company’s second high-grade underground mine at the Laverton Hub in WA.

In an operational update for the June 2025 quarter the company also said production from the other Laverton Hub operation, Second Fortune, was up 25% on the previous quarter.

While production from the two mines is ongoing, Brightstar is maintaining a solid pace with exploration and surface drilling is underway at Fish, targeting infill and life-of-mine extensions.

The company plans to complete a 2600m RC program across eight holes, complemented with underground diamond drilling to begin in July, targeting an upgrade of the stage 2 mineral resource.

Brightstar Resources (ASX:BTR) is buoyed by improved production at Second Fortune with June quarter production of 35,000t at 3.29g/t gold for 4000oz.

More production uplift is anticipated in the September quarter thanks to the Fish mine ramp-up and the start of haulage to Genesis Minerals’ (ASX:GMD) Laverton mill for processing in combination with Second Fortune ore - representing first revenue from Fish.

Discovery of new lode means in-mine upside

BTR isn’t just focused on production, with exploration upside thanks to the discovery of the new FTV Lode at Second Fortune, which confirms the northern extension of the Main Lode beyond the northern fault which has historically limited mine development along strike.

So far, the first panel developed delivered a strike length of ~25m outside of the current mine plan and weighted average face grades of a solid 4.55g/t gold.

“This represents a material in-mine exploration target for Second Fortune, as it has the potential to increase the ounce endowment per level for low-cost additional production,” executive director, operations, Andrew Rich said.

“Excitingly, the existence of the FTV Lode indicates the lateral extents of the mineralisation are unknown, and we plan to test this up dip and down dip to the north of the current mine area with both surface and underground drilling in the coming weeks.”

The company says it remains focused on growing its production profile in line with its recently announced ‘TARGET200’ strategy, targeting +200koz p.a. within 5 years.

“These operational milestones are a credit to the capabilities of our development and operational teams and place Brightstar in a robust position to pursue further growth opportunities within and adjacent to our existing operations,” Rich said.
