THE world’s biggest passenger aircraft will be among several planes arriving from Asia in the Northern Territory over the coming days for mothballing.
Arriving directly from Singapore, four Singapore Airlines Airbus A380 aircraft will land in Alice Springs Airport for storage this weekend.

The flights are expected to arrive at 8.30am, 9.45am, 10.45am and 11.45am on Sunday.
The Airbus A380 is one of several planes arriving in Alice Springs over the coming days from Asia for storage at the airport.
Airport general manager Dave Batic said the COVID-19 pandemic had presented many unique opportunities for Alice Springs Airport and one of them was allowing its airline partners to store their aircraft there.

“While we understand this is an exciting opportunity for many locals to view the aircraft arriving, the general public will not be able to access Alice Springs Airport unless they are carrying a valid boarding pass.” he said.
Alice Springs Airport has reduced operating hours due to COVID-19 and there is restricted access to the terminal.
Mr Batic said NT Airports is taking all the necessary precautions to ensure staff, contractors and visitors are protected.
