Qantas, Jetstar plan flights between Darwin and other Australian capitals from June

THE Northern Territory Government may not be keen to open our borders, but Jetstar and Qantas seem to be making plans just in case, with flights able to be booked out of Darwin to all Australian capital cities from June.
Jetstar also has rock bottom $77 fares to Bali on offer.
However a spokesman for Jetstar warned that the airline is currently reviewing its operations and further cancellations are likely.
“The Prime Minister has flagged an extension to international travel restrictions and quarantine for travellers arriving back into Australia,” the spokesman said.
“We will update customers should their flights be impacted.”
No flights are available between Darwin and Brisbane in May but from June 1 daily services to Brisbane out of Darwin are being offered via Melbourne.

It is the same story between Darwin and Adelaide in May.
However, from June, four out of seven days have flights scheduled out of Darwin to Adelaide in the first week and then over following weeks flights are increasing until full daily services are offered.
This includes direct flights.
Daily Darwin to Sydney services are also being offered from June by Jetstar and Qantas.
The services to Sydney are offered through Adelaide or Melbourne.
Darwin to Perth flights in June are a little more sporadic.
Flights to Perth from Darwin are being offered on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
In the third week of June it switches to Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
In the final week of June, Wednesday is included in the days available.
July has five days a week services offered to Perth out of Darwin.

Neighbouring states WA and SA told the NT News any announcement on relaxing border controls remained far off, while NT Health Minister Natasha Fyles said tourists would not be visiting the Northern Territory this dry season, which begins on Friday and ends in October.
“Those borders will remain shut,” Ms Fyles said.
“Now is not the time to visit the Northern Territory.
“It won’t be this dry season because we want to protect Territorians.
“We don’t have the community transmission of coronavirus and we want to keep it that way.”
