POPULAR Nightcliff gin bar Dom’s Bar and Lounge has officially applied for a permanent alfresco dining area permit with an aim to extend their bar into vacant shop space in the Aralia Street Arcade.

If approved, the expansion will increase the bar’s capacity to 100 patrons.
“The main purpose of this application is to extend the indoor seating and service area of the venue,” the application said.
“An outdoor dining application has been submitted to council for the alfresco area.
“If authority is granted for an alfresco area in time for the hearing then its use should be considered by the consent authority.”

Ongoing noise complaints had proprietor Dom Wundke stripped of his temporary dining permit, which was granted as a coronavirus recovery measure, in August.
