An all-weather alfresco dining area is being added to The Precinct at the Darwin Waterfront.
Work has started on the $750,000 structure, which will be between the wave pool and the popular bar/restaurant.
Owner Darren Lynch has engaged Randal Ashford, from Ashford Architects, for the design and is using all local tradesmen on the job.
“What we are doing is an all-weather alfresco dining deck at the Waterfront,” he said. “At this point there isn’t one and the feedback we get from customers is they want to be able to take advantage of the outdoors when they come to our venue.”
Mr Lynch is hopeful work will finish early in the New Year. He said they had factored in the Wet season.
“We are targeting to open the area on Australia Day but it is subject to how much rain we have,” he said.
