Northern Territory export awards finalists revealed

Darwin-based Australian Cattle Enterprises is one of the Territory’s top export businesses battling for the 2022 award. See all the finalists.

The Northern Territory’s top 10 export businesses have been revealed as they contend for the 2022 crown.

The Chief Minister’s Northern Territory Export Awards will be held on October 7, marking the 29th year of the competition.

This year businesses from Alice Springs to Darwin and in between have been nominated as finalists.

They include:

• Australian Blue Cypress Pty Ltd
• Alana Kaye Group Pty Ltd
• AusNorth Trading Pty Ltd
• Australian Cattle Enterprises
• Cycad International – Alice Springs
• Asia Pacific Aircraft Storage Pty Ltd – Alice Springs
• Consolidated Pastoral Company – Newcastle Waters
• Pak Fresh Handling Pty Ltd

Previous award winners include Asia Pacific Aircraft Storage, Moonsoon Aquatics and Charles Darwin University.

Deputy Chief Minister Nicole Manison said the awards were vital in recognising the businesses that further the NT economy.

“Growing the Territory’s trade of goods and services is essential to achieving the Government’s goal of becoming a $40 billion economy by 2030,” she said.

“International trade is a crucial driver of the Territory’s economy, so it is great to see a diverse range of Territory businesses and regions represented in this year’s nominees.”

Businesses trading internationally contributed $12.1 billion to the Territory’s economy last year.

The awards are sponsored by Darwin Port, the NT government, Austrade, Export Finance Australia, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, INPEX Ichthys Project and Darwin Innovation Hub.
