A billion-dollar high-speed network project has been given the green light to supercharge the Territory.

A DIGITAL infrastructure project to connect Darwin to every capital city in Australia has been given major project status by the Territory government.

HyperOne is a $1.5 billion dollar, founded by tech millionaire Bevan Slattery, which will see 2200km of high speed fibre cable laid across the NT.

The project is expected to create around 10,000 jobs during construction including 1000 based in Territory.

“HyperOne is one the projects that has the potential to turn Darwin into a global gateway to Australia and Asia. It will open the door for new jobs, and opportunities for business and improve digital capabilities for Territorians,” Chief Minister Michael Gunner said.
