At just 18 years old and only weeks out of school, Ethan Lay is already making a mark within the Northern Territory’s real estate industry.
Having only recently obtained his real estate licence and sold his first listing, Ethan has seamlessly transitioned into a full-time role with Daniel Harris, one of the Territory’s most respected real estate agents.
Ethan’s journey into the realty industry began aged 12 assisting his parents, Kenny and Shellie Lay, at their family owned and operated Zuccoli IGA supermarket.
Ethan attributes this early exposure to the working world to his strong sense of responsibility and drive.
Balancing school, part-time work, and a budding career, Ethan began working weekends with Daniel Harris of Real Estate Central aged just 16 years old.
Despite the demands of completing Year 12, he pursued his real estate licence as soon as he was eligible, demonstrating a commitment well beyond his years.
Now, Ethan has secured a full-time position under the mentorship of Mr Harris, who is widely regarded as among the best in NT real estate.
Ethan said it was “an honour and a privilege” to work alongside Mr Harris and learn from one of the industry’s finest.
“I was drawn to this industry from a young age and I’m very excited about what the future holds,” Ethan said.
For his part, Mr Harris explained why he took Ethan onto his team straight out of school. “Ethan’s maturity is well beyond his years, and he certainly has a bright future in this industry,” he said.
“Selling his first house within 24 hours is unheard of. I can’t wait to see where the next few years take him.”
