Dom’s Bar and Lounge has discovered the optimum leaning height for bar with tap beer

Dom’s Bar has installed its first beer tap and, in doing so, discovered the optimum leaning height for a bar. SEE WHAT IT IS.

DOM’S Bar and Lounge owner Dom Wundke discovered the optimum leaning height for a bar when he installed his first beer tap last week.

“Much more leaning goes on in a bar when there’s a tap,” Dom said.

“It’s like a magnet. The first person who came in the door once the taps were installed walked over to the bar and leant on it.”

Dom’s master builder dad Richard, who’s helped construct and expand the Nightcliff venue, was called in to perform carpentry to get the bar to an optimum lean height – 1125mm, apparently.

“We had to raise the bar, no pun intended, by 20cm to make sure it’s on the perfect leaning height.

“People will still come here for Drew’s cocktails but it’s great to be able to provide quality beer on tap and we’ll still have plenty of canned craft beer options from around Australia.”

Dom enlisted some trusty taste-testers to try out the new tap and its flowing Beaver Brewery ale, which fits comfortably with Dom’s ‘go local first’ perspective.

It was, after all, Dom’s that hosted up to 70 local live performers at the Eazy Breezy Weekend when Seabreeze Festival was cancelled earlier this year and on June 18 will host another round of the popular Darwin’s Got Talent show.

A few spots are still available for contestants.

While Drew’s famous cocktails will remain the Lounge’s main attraction, even Dom was surprised by the pulling power of the tap.
