Godfather vibes radiate from Darwin’s newest Italian restaurant, Bravo’s Pasta and Wine Bar.

Located on Darwin’s Waterfront, Bravo’s is set to open on January 3 and has captured the attention of the local foodies.

With a touch of Nonna’s secret recipe, proud Italian-Australian owner Anthony Falanga said he wanted to create a “nice Italian atmosphere” for Territorians.

“I have an Italian background and I did an apprenticeship in Italian cooking, so I started off in this kind of food,” he said.

“Over time I have ventured into pubs and other things but this is a concept that I sort of had in my head for a few years now.”

Surrounded by vintage photo frames and Venetian artwork, Mr Falanga said Bravo’s patrons would enjoy an “intimate” environment.

“You’re supposed to feel like you’re sitting at your grandparents’ house,” he said.

“It’s meant to be intimate and cozy – it’s not fine dining, but it’s a nice atmosphere.”

Mr Falanga admitted his Nonna’s cooking inspired part of the menu.

“The lasagna and Sicilian pork are both from my Nonna’s recipe,” he said.

“I’ve even got some recipes off my dad and aunty, so the family’s flavours are definitely there.”

Mr Falanga said “everyone’s welcome”.

“Anyone from business workers to families, people from A to Z, everyone is welcome.”
