New Nightcliff Police Station project gets a roof

CONSTRUCTION of the new 24-hour police station at Nightcliff has hit a major milestone according to the NT Government- the roof was put on.

Part of a wider $45 million commitment to redevelop john Stokes Square, the police station project is expected to create 250 jobs.

“This police station is going to be state of the art, it’s going to help our police who work so hard, have the best facilities, the latest technology to do their incredibly important job,” Police Minister Nicole Manison said.

The John Stokes Redevelopment also includes the construction of public housing, including for seniors and people living with disabilities.

The new 24-hour police station will include a community space, muster rooms to cater for general-duties officers, interview rooms, car park, outside respite area for police and breakout spaces.
