PALMERSTON has a new all-in-one entertainment venue.
The Landmark@Gateway, which cost $6 million to fit out, is a three-level venue and the latest foray into the hospitality industry for the Coleman brothers.
For two decades, brothers Justin and Michael operated the popular Mitchell St pub Shenannigans. But in October last year they sold the iconic drinking destination to Dixon Hospitality Group.
“There was definitely some sadness about walking away from Shags,” Justin Coleman said. “But at just over 2000 square metres, Landmark is equivalent to bolting Shenannigans on to Discovery. We have made the entire theme of the venue that of the natural environment, drawing inspiration from Litchfield and Kakadu with stone, wood and greenery using the artwork of Paul Arnold.”
The main bar and bistro is aimed at being family-friendly.
From the ground floor, the venue opens to an outdoor garden with separate bar, eight-metre ceilings and full UBET facilities. But it’s the immediate impact of a 5mx3m LED television which is impossible to ignore — the largest installed LED television in a licensed venue in Australia.
Completing the all-in-one tag is a late-night venue — Entrada.
