New Darwin to Sri Lanka flights to start from $212 one way with Jetstar

TERRITORIANS hankering to fly to Sri Lanka will soon be able to get there a lot easier with flights from Darwin to Colombo to start from $212 one-way.

Jetstar Group’s Singapore-based carrier, Jetstar Asia, will launch its new service on July 1.

It will be the only low-cost carrier to fly direct from Singapore to Colombo.

Jetstar Asia’s new Singapore-Colombo service will operate four times a week by an Airbus A321.

The new service means Territory passengers can depart Darwin at 5.30am (3K162), land in Singapore at 8.30am and transfer to the new Colombo flight (3K333) that arrives in Colombo at 11:30am.

On Monday and Saturdays the Colombo flight 3K333 will leave Singapore at 10am and Wednesday and Friday flight 3K331 will leave Singapore at 9pm and arrive at 10.40pm.

And, on the return, passengers can depart Colombo at 12.10pm, land in Singapore at 6:40pm and transfer to a return Darwin flight four hours later.

A Jetstar Asia spokesman said flights from Darwin to Colombo will start from $212 one-way.
