PALMERSTON council has jumped on board the local retailer voucher scheme, with the first round of its myPalmerston program — based on the wildly successful myDarwin voucher scheme — now open for use.

The first stage, which opened on Tuesday, will have a pool of $40,000, with two more rounds of $90,000 to be released on October 28 and November 26.

Palmerston Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell said myPalmerston would be available for use across a range of retail industries.

“With multiple businesses already registered for the program and counting, there is a fantastic range of services available including food outlets, retail stores, and beauty services where customers can utilise their discount vouchers,” she said.

“I encourage the community to support our local businesses and shop locally.”

The voucher scheme will work on the same format as Darwin council’s original scheme, with shoppers able to spend up to $40 per day, split between vouchers valued at $2.50, $5, $10 and $20.
