THE fifth round of the MyDarwin voucher scheme has been launched, with a pool of $200,000 to help traders and shoppers make the most of the Christmas period.

A second pool of $200,000 will be launched on January 20, which Pinkhill owner Silvija Majetic said would complement the pre-Christmas pool.

“I think it’s a brilliant idea because it does slow down in January,” she said.

“Traditionally there are a lot of stores which hold their big sales mid year because people are around but this is our peak season so we hold our sales in January when there’s not as many people here.”

The vouchers will now have a reset time of 48 hours.
