THE Australian dollar has been one of the best performers overnight and is virtually unchanged against its fellow strong currency, the US dollar.

At 0635 AEDT on Tuesday, the Australian dollar was worth 76.63 US cents, hardly changed from 76.64 US cents on Monday.

The Aussie dollar has mirrored the greenback’s movements, being also higher against the euro but lower against the yen.

The euro struggled amid political uncertainty over French politics ahead of April’s presidential vote with the currency dropping to a one-week low against the US dollar.

While, the greenback slipped to its lowest in two months against the yen. The Australian dollar followed suit to be up against the euro and down sharply against the yen.
