PREPARATIONS are under way to tidy up the site of the now stalled $200m Darwin Waterfront luxury hotel development.
Security fencing around the hotel site has come down as Landbridge fulfils its clean-up promise.
Landbridge confirmed just over a week ago that activities on the project were being suspended.
It said it had agreed with the Northern Territory government on a 12-month extension while considering the feasibility of continuing with the hotel development.
“Over the next couple of months, the site will be tidied up to allow pedestrian access to the foreshore while we are carrying out our review,” Landbridge said.
“Regrettably, COVID-19 and related economic impacts have fundamentally impacted the feasibility of the project.
“If we don’t resume work by end of June 2021, Landbridge will not continue with the project.”
