He’s hatched a simple strategy to wow Michelin Star judges. “I’m going to go eat at a Michelin star restaurant and see what it’s like,” he said,

“Then go and knock on their door with a bucket of chicken and see how I go.”

Mr Edelman hoped through the visit to begin the process of his restaurant being considered for the accolade, which requires judges to dine at the restaurant between about three and 10 times over two to three years.

Australia does not have a Michelin star restaurant.

Mr Edelman said even if he didn’t succeed in receiving the star, it’d be an opportunity to showcase Australian cuisine to the French institution.

“If I can influence them to come to Australia then I’ll have succeeded in that right as well,” he said.

Mr Edelman said cooking fried chicken was an art form and eating it one of life’s greatest pleasures.

“I like being in the kitchen at work and I like cooking and love working alongside my team,” he said.

“And eating the final product when it’s hot and fresh and is crispy. Real southern fried chicken, the flavour, herbs, spices and saltiness and light pepper taste is good.
