HELPING People Achieve’s chief executive has been praised for his leadership after his shock resignation was announced on Tuesday.
Tony Burns will leave his position at the organisation on December 11, according to a statement by Helping People Achieve, which is dedicated to helping people with physical or intellectual disabilities to get a job.

“It is with regret that we advise that Mr Tony Burns, our CEO, has for personal and family reasons tendered his resignation,” HPA board president Barry Thomas said on the non-profit’s Facebook page.
“During his time as CEO, Tony has made a significant contribution to HPA.”
The post praised his contribution to HPA
“Tony leaves HPA in a strong position for future growth, and we sincerely thank him for his contribution and leadership during his time as CEO.”
The post said Mr Burns would move to southeast Queensland after wrapping up at the HPA.
An interim chief executive has been appointed.
