FORMER Labor staffer Shaun Drabsch is the new chief executive of the Territory’s Business, Trade and Innovation department, the NT News has learned.
He takes over from Michael Tennant, who relocated back to Brisbane earlier this year.
The job earns more than $350,000 a year.
According to LinkedIn, Drabsch is working for Santos as a public affairs advisor - a role he has been in since February last year.
Between 2011 and 2013, he was chief-of-staff to federal Communications Minister Stephen Conroy.
Between 2015 and 2016 he worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers, assisting the national infrastructure advisory.
Drabsch was the former long-time partner of Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.
They split last year.
In 2017, Ms Palaszczuk was forced to respond to questions over Mr Drabsch’s involvement in government projects.
